No one EVER understands this. “Oh, can you edit this paper for me?” or some other freebie request happens nearly daily (thankful not to be a visual artist, for sure. I support visual artists as much as I can, because I know it’s worse for them.)
No one also understands what “work at home” means. My entire family and friends base has decided that since I’m home during the day, it means I’m free and available to do whatever. It doesn’t. I have 8 hour days just like you, I just do them in my own office instead of someone elses.
